GTS CE again wins Capacity magazine's 2007 Carrier of the Year award for Central and Eastern Europe
November 12, 2007
In a widely attended industry event in Amsterdam, Euromoney's Capacity magazine announced GTS CE as the winner of its annual "Best CEE Wholesale Provider" award. The judging panel included feedback from industry analysts and senior representatives from Yankee Group, Atlantic-ACM and Capacity magazine's Editor-in-Chief and Editor.
The award, won against significant competition from both alternative and incumbent carriers, was given to GTS CE in recognition of continued enhancement of network reach and depth of access infrastructure solutions across the CEE region. Aggressive investment in access technologies coupled with the successful integration of in-region acquisitions helped GTS CE to triple revenue and Ebitda over the 3 year period from 2005 to 2007 further propelling the company into a clear leadership position in the CEE telecom sector.
Tamás Polgár, CEO for GTS CE, stated that the company has shown its pedigree in 2007 with the successful delivery of an increasing array of sophisticated distributed network solutions across the some 20 widely divergent countries that make up this vibrant region. Polgár adds what is even more attractive is that with GTS CE's continued accumulation of in-region expertise together with aggressive investment in access solutions the company has been able to realize an ever increasing percentage of these services being delivered on net.
"Today, the GTS CE regional network, products and customer base give GTS CE unrivalled regional scale with consolidated revenues now closing in on 400 million Euros" said Tamás Polgár, GTS CE's CEO. "This award validates our strategy, and provides further evidence of our growing importance to the Central and Eastern European telecommunications service industry. We think highly of Capacity magazine's accolade, as the publication is one of the most respected journals for the global wholesale telecommunications sector."
Further focused expansion within the niche region of Central and Eastern Europe is likely to continue as GTS CE continues to gain scale, depth of own infrastructure and increasing expertise in delivering integrated complex regional solutions.
