GTS CE unifies and enhances its IP VPN service

Warsaw, January 5, 2010
GTS Central Europe (GTS CE), a leading central European telecommunications provider, has announced the enhancement of its IP VPN service across five countries in Europe: the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia. The converged GTS IP VPN service, upgraded to include many new features, provides international customers with improved levels of security, speed and reliability, enabling more powerful data communication.

The unification of the IP VPN service follows the GTS CE strategy to offer ‘one-stop shopping’ and deliver integrated services with the same value added applications across five core countries. The ability to deliver a converged IP VPN service throughout a single GTS MPLS seamless region-wide network enables our customers to extend their off-net coverage to embrace the entire central European region. This gives us a unique position in the region, and provides unrivalled solutions in terms of quality and cost-efficiency.

The latest service enhancements for GTS IP VPN include: new access possibilities for ADSL and SHDSL; additional Value Added Services; unification of the Service Level Agreement (SLA); and increased number of NNI partners throughout Europe. Business customers and international carriers receive even more benefits from the Value Added Services:

1. Performance monitoring, monitoring some of the operational service parameter values for each user line.

2. Back-up of End User Line, allowing the backing-up of primary access lines using a wide portfolio of technologies (ISDN, xDSL, Mobile etc.)

3. Remote access, enabling secure IP VPN access via any connection to the Internet. The customer uses a software client in their PC/NB that allows secure access to a company IP VPN over an encrypted IP Sec connection.

“The unification process for GTS IP VPN and its latest enhancements demonstrates our continued striving to deliver leading-edge converged IP services in the region,” said Ignacio Irurita, Chief Technology Officer at GTS CE. He added: ‘Our IP VPN service not only simplifies the customer’s network operations, but also provides several unique benefits, including a wide range of local loop access technologies such as DSL, FWA, professional wireless connections in licensed bands, and fibre to the buildings. GTS MPLS has unrivalled network coverage across the whole central European region, optional additional services and 24/7 Single Point of Contact to guarantee our partners receive one of the highest performing network solutions.’
