GTS Central Europe for Palace Cinemas:Intercompany network covering entire Central Europe
Prague, April 2, 2007
GTS Central Europe (GTS CE), a Central European telecommunication operator the company GTS Novera is a part of, launched a new MPLS network for Palace Cinemas this February. Data connection and voice services network that interconnected Palace Cinemas' multiplexes and affiliates in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary offers e.g. a remote access to mobile users and is also used by the booking and accounting systems.
"From the customer point of view the entire network functions as an intercompany network all affiliates in individual countries are connected to. Considering the security it has one central Internet point of access and unified security," said Mr. Stuart Evers, Chief Sales Officer for GTS CE. "State borders play no limit for business in the Central European region any longer. International companies which have often had their headquarters in one country and affiliates in a number of other countries do not want logically to be somehow limited by the borders between individual countries; neither they want to be limited by the state borders in the telecommunication services. Therefore we perceive Central Europe as an integral region and offer a single regional network, services and servicing."
The entire network, which functions on the IP VPN principle, has a central Internet connectivity with the transmission rate amounting to 100 Mbit/s at GTS Novera's data center. The Czech operator also ensures value added services - e.g. e-mail service and complex network security - an antispam and antivirus protection and firewall. The network also offers a remote access so that the users can get connected from their homes or while they are on the business trip. Furthermore, the company Palace Cinemas uses the Novera Telehouse service and has its servers placed in the GTS Novera data center. The network interconnects 19 multiplexes in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. The preparation works begun last October, the network was put into operations this February.
Currently, GTS CE has also been developing a similar network for JYSK, a Danish furniture vendor. In such case there will be interconnected 61 JYSK's sales outlets in Central Europe, namely in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary.
The company Palace Cinemas is the largest multiplex operator in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. It operates multiscreen movie complexes and provides follow up services as well. Last year the company established two new divisions - Palace Media, a media representation, and Palace Pictures, a film distribution.
