GTS Central Europe founded its Croatian subsidiary, GTS Telekomunikacije

GTS Central European Holding B.V. founded its Croatian subsidiary called GTS Telekomunikacije d.o.o. The new company offers retail and wholesale voice, data services and IP services for corporate customers: international leased lines, MPLS and voice termination. The General Manager of GTS Telekomunikacije d.o.o. is Géza Szathmári, who holds the position of the General Manager of GTS-Datanet, Hungarian subsidiary of GTS CE as well.
As one of the largest alternative telecommunications provider of Central Eastern Europe, GTS Central Europe wishes to actively expand in the direction of Southern Europe in the future. Via GTS-Datanet, the company has already been present in the Southern European countries with its services; the foundation of the Croatian subsidiary is the next step of the process. According to the plans, GTS Central Europe will establish a subsidiary in Slovenia this year, and later in Serbia.
In the past year, GTS Central Europe focused on strengthening its Central Eastern European position and acquired a number of telecommunication providers: Energis Polska in Poland, Contactel in the Czech Republic, Quadia in Slovakia, furthermore Telenor Networks and Nextra, having both Czech and Slovakian interests. Through these acquisitions, the company significantly increased its customer base and the extent of its optical network. The revenues of GTS Central Europe are expected to reach 385 million EUR in 2006.
