GTS Central Europe Strengthens Slovak Operations with Acquisition of Dial Telecom (Slovakia)

Bratislava, Slovakia, September 14, 2010
Bratislava, Slovakia - September 14, 2010 - GTS Central Europe (GTS), an infrastructure-based telecommunications operator and provider of data centre services in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), acquired Dial Telecom a.s. (Slovakia). Dial Telecom’s customer base and metropolitan optical network in Bratislava will greatly enhance GTS Slovakia’s ability to service customers throughout the Slovakia. Dial Telecom (Slovakia) is a provider of complete portfolio of voice, data and internet services. The acquisition will strengthen the GTS footprint not only in Slovakia, but in the whole CEE region. GTS will integrate the Dial Telecom customers and product offerings into its existing Slovak operations, creating a combined business with total annual revenues reaching nearly € 50 million.

“This acquisition will lead to further consolidation of the telecommunications market in Slovakia, and will at the same time strengthen our position as a leading operator and a significant player on CEE telecommunications market providing services to corporate customers. After recent acquisitions in Romania and Hungary earlier this year, GTS confirms its position as a leading market consolidator in the CEE region,” said Adam Sawicki, Group CEO of GTS Central Europe.

This merger will bring a new, wider and higher-quality range of services to GTS’s corporate customer base and allow the Company to more effectively focus on specific customer requirements, as well as significant expand of its existing metropolitan optical network in Bratislava.

GTS Slovakia, Dial Telecom and eTel Slovensko (acquired by Dial Telecom in 2008) were the first telecom operators to provide voice services after the fixed-line monopoly. The three companies contributed significantly to the growth, evolution and liberalisation of the Slovak fixed-line telecommunications market. “This combination is a significant milestone for the Slovak telecommunications market. The integrated company will greatly benefit our customers with expanded service offerings, increased customer service expertise and broader network infrastructure,” said Stanislav Molčan, CEO of GTS Slovakia.

Dial Telecom (Slovakia) is active on Slovak market since 2000 and provides complete portfolio of voice, data and internet services including server housing. In 2008 the company acquired telecommunications operator eTel Slovensko.

“Dial Telecom will use its resources from sale activities in Slovakia to strengthen its Czech telecommunication market portion and it plans to participate more actively on its consolidation. We see big potential for other growth in the Czech Republic, where we dispose one of the largest telecommunication infrastructures these days,” said Zdeněk Sivek, chairman of the board of Dial Telecom, Inc.
