GTS Central Europe to build a data transmission network

Warsaw, September 5, 2011
GTS Central Europe has won the tender to build a wide-area network announced for the Ministry of Justice in Poland. The contract for Euro 6 million was signed for the period of 3 years.

GTS Poland will build a private, safe IP VPN network to connect the entities associated with the Ministry of Justice located throughout Poland. The project is strategically important to the appropriate flow of information between 483 locations of judicial units. Thanks to the service provided by GTS, the Ministry's telecommunications costs, covered by the State Treasury and thus public funding, will be lower.

The new network will include:

·        units handling Central Court Registers;
·        InformationManagement Centres (IMC);
·        accounting and human resources management system (ERP);
·        central application SAWA and
·        audio-video recording system of court hearings.

Moreover, GTS will ensure connection between:

·        key nodes of the Ministry of Justice and VPN networks of units of the common courts;
·        as well as courts of appeal, district and regional courts and organisational units of the Ministry of Justice.

"We have been successful in gaining customers from the public sector, which corresponds to the long-term development strategy of the company. As an organisation, we are aware of the scale of our latest undertaking but we are also prepared to carry it out - having extensive experience and great potential in building wide-area networks nationally and locally. We put particular emphasis on high quality and generating real savings, which is especially important for public sector entities”- said Piotr Sieluk, CEO of GTS Poland.The new network will be built using IP technology and have much better technical parameters compared to the previous solution which will be completely replaced by the GTS-provided technology.

GTS won the tender due to own superior solutions and competitive price, beating out numerous large telecommunications companies in Poland.
