GTS-Datanet: focus on own network based services

Budapest, February 26, 2008
GTS-Datanet, Hungarian subsidiary of GTS Central Europe announced that number of its broadband internet subscribers increased significantly by 57 percent to 50,000 last year, above the average broadband market growth of 33 percent. The company announced to launch new ADSL and fixed phone packages in the local loop unbundling based YO! Neked portfolio, and extended coverage of reseller ADSL packages to service areas of incumbent Invitel. Due to these steps GTS-Datanet expects 50% growth in number of broadband subscriptions in 2008.

New local loop unbundling based service packages
Under the brand name of YO! NEKED, GTS-Datanet launched its local loop unbundling based services in September 2006. At the moment, YO! NEKED bundled offers of ADSL internet and fixed phone service are available in Budapest and 11 towns of Hungary. From March 1, 2008 the company completes the YO! NEKED portfolio with separate ADSL and fixed phone packages.

Datanet ADSL coverage expanded to incumbent Invitel service areas
GTS-Datanet announced to expand coverage of its reseller ADSL packages offered under brand name of Datanet ADSL to all service areas of incumbent Invitel. Due to the expansion, Datanet ADSL will be available via 98 percent of Hungarian fixed voice channels from March 1, 2008.

Network upgrading
Presently, GTS-Datanet is the only alternative telecom service provider in Hungary owning a solid, nationwide telecommunications network infrastructure. Capacity of the company's 1,900 km long optic fibre network is 80X10 Gbps. Since its foundation in 1993, GTS-Datanet has invested more than 100 million EUR in establishing and maintaining its own fibre infrastructure and it aims to invest further 1 million EUR in expanding network capacity in the first half of 2008.

Financial results
2007 proved to be a successful year for GTS-Datanet: the company’s revenue grew by 9% to 14,6 billion HUF, although average growth of the Hungarian fixed line market was not more than 1-2%. In 2008, GTS-Datanet expects 10% revenue growth as well.

"Our company reported premium revenue growth above the market average year by year, and it is based solely on organic growth. The reason of this excellent result is our solid, state-of-the-art fibre network, which gives us a competitive edge over other Hungarian telecom service providers who need to lease infrastructure" said Géza Szathmári, CEO of GTS-Datanet. "We are convinced that in the long run only companies owning infrastructure will be able to flourish in the telecom market" he added.
