GTS Nextra achieved an income of three quarters of a billion crowns last year
Bratislava, March 13, 2007
The largest alternative telecommunications operator GTS Nextra achieved a total level of income of SKK 768,217 mil. last year. In interim comparison this represents a growth of almost 18 percent from the income of SKK 652,291 mil. recorded in 2005. The company is also achieving superb results in terms of profit before tax, interest, depreciations and amortisation (EBITDA), which grew in the interim by 43% to SKK 161,080 mil.
Even despite the overall negative development on the market for fixed voice services, GTS Nextra managed to increase its income from voice services last year by SKK 23 mil., when it achieved the sum of SKK 115,260 mil. The largest share in the incomes achieved were however maintained by Internet (SKK 379,353 mil.) and data services (SKK 202,740 mil.). Other services contributed to company income at a level of SKK 70,8 mil.
"The results achieved clearly show our growing potential, to which acquisition of companies with their own telecommunications infrastructure and complementary residential customer base also contributed. The mutual synergy after the acquisitions and the new organisational structure of our company provides a sound basis for a further period of substantial growth," said the chairman of the board of directors of GTS Nextra Stanislav Molcan, commenting on the results. In the current calendar year, company management is planning to achieve income at the level of SKK 825 mil. EBITDA profit should constitute up to 24.4% of the total income, i.e. roughly SKK 201.5 mil. "Investment costs (CAPEX) will also provide stimulus for further growth of the company, which should achieve a level of SKK 115 mil. in 2007," said Stanislav Molcan.
As of the end of December GTS Nextra had 16 598 customers.
The total income reported is decreased by mutual transactions in terms of GTS Nextra, a.s., GTS Slovakia, s.r.o., Aliatel Slovakia, s.r.o., Quadia DCT a.s. and Nextra, s.r.o. merged into GTS Nextra as of 1.7.2006. In 2006 these mutual transactions reached a level of SKK 62,475 mil. and in 2005 SKK 91,519 mil.
