GTS Novera at the Invex 2005 Fair

Prague, October 10, 2005
The nationwide fixed operator GTS NOVERA, established at the beginning of this year by a merger between two major alternative operators, GTS Czech and Aliatel, will be first introduced this year at the Invex 2005 Fair. In Pavilion B of the Brno Exhibition Area, a haven of peace with an area of more than 100 m2 will be built, equipped with the most modern technologies and a relaxing putting zone for golfers.

In addition to its Pavilion B exposition, GTS Novera will actively participate in the Fair's professional programme, which will be focused on the development of Information Technology and Internet in the public sector. GTS Novera also provides its customers in the area of public administration with a complete portfolio of telecommunication services all over the Czech Republic. Novera GTS is going to present its solution, which may significantly improve the working conditions of public-administration authorities, at the conference 'Electronic support of regional development - Days of Regions, Towns and Municipalities;' its first year will be held at Invex 2005.

In GTS Novera's opinion, the application of Information Technology and Internet within the development of towns and municipalities includes solving issues of sufficient capacity of infrastructure. Doc. RNDr. Milan Berka, CSc, who will represent GTS Novera at this conference, says: "In our opinion, this infrastructure should support a LAN speed of at least 10 Mbps, not 256 kbps, which is the standard definition of a broadband value. However, high-quality infrastructure without applications using it would be lacking reason, and would mean a waste of financial means. In other words, both these areas should be implemented simultaneously."

GTS Novera is able to participate in the further development of infrastructure, in the form of building fibre-optic or radio networks, or combinations of them. Moreover, this telecommunication operator is ready do develop and implement special applications, such as micro-regions' portals, crisis management, emergency systems, micro-regional cable TV, camera and monitoring systems, or VoIP systems enabling free telephone calls within a municipality or even between municipalities, and also available to inhabitants.

GTS Novera's abilities in the area of innovation have also been proven by the existence of its own research team, which will be represented at Invex by its project, consisting of multimedia content transmitted over broadband Internet. The professional public will also learn about another project in which GTS Novera is participating - Electronic Personal Books for Healthcare Recordsfrom MD Access, which will enable doctors to get electronic access to patients' information.
