GTS Slovakia and Slovak Telecom signed network interconnection contract

GTS Slovakia, member of GTS Central Europe Holding leading alternative telecommunications operator in Slovakia, signed during September 2005 network interconnection contract with Slovak Telecom and implemented connections with both mobile operators.
After a successful implementation of public telephone switch, EWSD system from Siemens, that was made during first half of the year, GTS Slovakia, proceeded to sign interconnection agreement with incumbent voice operator and both mobile operators to witch the connections were established. As only company within the group of alternative operators decided to invest into technology, which is used by incumbent operator. Using the same technologies on both sides are technical problems with connection minimal. Systems EWSD from company Siemens are used by all countries of GTS Central Europe Holding.
According to uncomfortable connecting conditions of alternative operators with company Slovak Telecom, that this ex-monopol company reached, decided not to enter the resident market and keep on distributing of products to company's clients. Service carrier selection will be offered in second half of October 2005.
