Pál Pauer was appointed CEO of GTS Datanet

Budapest, November 3, 2008
Effective from November 1, Pál Pauer is the new Chief Executive Officer of GTS Datanet, the leading alternative telecommunication operator in Hungary. Pál Pauer replaces the current CEO Géza Szathmári, who is leaving the company.

Pál Pauer (38) started his career at GTS Group in 1995. After serving as a sales manager in Hungary for four years, he was appointed at Sales Director of GTS Poland in 1999. In 2001 he arrived back at Hungary, and since that time he has been holding a position of Sales and Marketing Director at GTS-Datanet.

"In the last decade Géza Szathmári played an essential part in developing GTS-Datanet from a start-up company to the leader alternative telecom service provider in Hungary” said Adam Sawicki, CEO of GTS CE. “Now we face regional challenges. Pál Pauer is here to carry on in the new era of GTS Datanet and GTS CE that is visualized by the new group owners", he added.

GTS CE was sold to a consortium of private equity funds led by Columbia Capital, M/C Venture Partners and Innova Capital in May 2008. According to the new owner's strategy, GTS CE is to become a truly regional provider for carriers and business customers through capitalizing on the excellent opportunities offered by the unique, region-wide network of the company.
