Information-flow necessary to run the business life is increasingly implemented by network solutions demanding safe communication. Cost minimization plays an extremely important role in the case of companies with several sites. The solution, where communication is provided through Internet connection, can result in significant savings compared to the implementation of leased line connection. In this case, however, special attention has to be paid to the perfect safety of data-flow.
The essence of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) is that the private network of the company is substituted by a public network, by keeping its private characteristics through encryption. Thus a virtual network is created, where dataflow between the two end points is encrypted, resulting in an absolute safe communication.
The sites requiring constant connection can connect to the VPN network through leased line connection. In cases like this, the end-point is permanently connected to the other sites of the company through the Internet.
For sites with less traffic, or not requiring permanent communication, there is a possibility to be connected through analogue or ISDN lines. In such cases, the end-point is connected to the Internet, thus to the VPN network, only for the time while data- communication is in progress with the other VPN end-points. In the case of dial-up connection, the end-points - no matter where they are located geographically - get connected to the network cost effectively, through local calls.
Companies or Institutions with scattered sites can solve the internal flow of information whilst minimizing the expenses on investment and telecommunication as communication takes place through an existing network, the Internet, to which the sites can be connected at minimal investment, and communication can go on with really favourable fees.
