The GTS VoIP Service contains the following technical elements:
- VoIP gateway installed on the customer's site
- Leased line connection between the customer site and GTS Network Operations Centre, (NOC)
- VoIP gatekeeper and billing system located in the GTS Network Operations Centre
- GTS International IP backbone network
For the GTS VoIP Service, GTS provides a VoIP gateway connected directly to the subscriber's private branch exchange (PBX) through one of the following standard interfaces: FXO, FXS, E&M, ISDN PRI, ISDN BRI. The VoIP gateway communicates with the GTS Network Operations Centre (NOC) through leased line, and the NOC is directly connected to GTS's fully redundant fibre-optic IP backbone network.
The number of simultaneous calls is determined by the type of gateway and the bandwidth of the leased line connection. The gateway in the basic implementation can provide 2-4 channels, the higher capacity version of which is capable of providing 30-120 simultaneous telephone calls. If your company, for example, wishes to carry on 4 VoIP telephone calls simultaneously and your company also has other Internet access (e-mail, browsing, etc.) needs, a 128 kbps bandwidth leased line connection may be sufficient to cover your requirements.
As GTS's own fibre-optic backbone network provides the highest possible level IP connection for our clients, your company can employ the GTS VoIP Service in excellent quality.
